Route 66...the band is a group of musicians who have combined their talents to produce rich vocal harmonies and clean, balanced instrumentation. They have played together for 15+ years and really enjoy performing the sounds of the fabulous 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. They work hard (but you won’t notice) as they bring you the greatest hits of those years. Their infectious enthusiasm allows everyone to truly enjoy the sounds from the past.

Joe Buonanno

Joe Buonanno
Providence, Rhode Island originally claimed lead guitar and vocalist, Joe. He first began playing guitar at age 11 and turned professional at 16. “Smokin’ Joe” fondly remembers playing in the house band for a number of great stars at PJ’s in Hollywood. Joe recently retired from truck driving and lives in Sparks with his beautiful wife, Marianne.

Joseph DeRosa

Joseph DeRosa
Originally from Normal, Illinois, Joseph was lucky to have a mother who was a piano teacher. He started playing at age 3 and continues to wow audiences with his effortless abilities. He has played with various bands all over the west, mid-west, and Canada since he was 17. Some of you might remember him from the local group, Papa Clutch and the Shifters or The Cheryl Cotton Show. He has opened for John Conlee (Rose Colored Glasses), BJ Thomas, and backed up Chuck Berry. His gifts in the musical arena are not limited to the keyboards. Joseph also plays guitar, harmonica and probably any other instrument he puts his hands on. Writing jingles and arrangements comes in handy too. Port of Subs, Rail City and Peppermill have used his talents and as Director of Music Ministries at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, he continues to demonstrate his keen ear and musical gifts. Joseph is also an artist in regards to painting. He has done a number of paintings and, in fact, used one for the cover of his latest CD. His piano CD is used for production music on a dozen Catholic radio stations across the west.

Garry Pranin

Garry Pranin
Our bass player and lead vocalist is from Kenosha, Wisconsin. Garry has been a professional musician all his life. In the 20+ years here in Reno he has played in all the casinos. (We’ve all played in the casinos, but he’s the only one who has actually made money!) The father of 6 and grandfather of 4+, he runs his own business, “Mr. Holland’s Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning Service”.

Ronda Shen

Ronda Shen
Lead vocalist, violinist and marketing director originates from Bremerton, Washington. She left her counseling position at Bates Technical College and moved to Reno to follow her dream of singing with a band. Not only does she perfom with Route 66, but you may also see her singing with “Sierra Swing,“ a 15 piece big band or “Music to the Max,” a DJ/Karaoke business run with her husband, Max.. Her grandchildren now refer to her as “Rock ‘n Roll Grandma”.

Lee Warner

Lee Warner
Most people work for a living. Lee plays for a living. In addition to playing his drums in 12 local bands, and teaching drum lessons, Lee “makes money with his mouth.” Lee does phone messages for about 170 businesses in Nevada and California. You’ll also hear Lee’s voice on overhead speaker announcements in airports, casinos and gas stations, and on TV and radio commercials. Lee was a radio DJ for 25 years, up until 2002, including six years on the “Oldies 104” morning show in Reno. Lee’s music and radio careers have taken him all over, and he has lived in 20 cities in 12 states. Lee is also a local wedding minister. He’s lived in Reno since 1987.
